2017 has been my best year so far. In terms of work achievements, I’ve hit milestones that I never thought were possible: reaching 10k on Instagram, getting my dream job and working with some amazing brands. But in some sense I still feel so unaccomplished. This problem with millennials wanting what they want, when they want, is something I’ve only recently realised and understood. I may have hit certain goals I set for myself within the industry, but in terms of my personal life – well, it’s pretty much been neglected. So going forward into 2018, I’m making small changes to up my game and become better-rounded and happier within myself. If I can validate myself, my health and my happiness in 2018, then all the other work-related bits will fall into place.
I actually love reading. I used to be such a bookworm when I was younger. But recently, as to be expected, I spend a lot more time scrolling through social media than reading and focusing on ‘me-time’.
GO TO BED EARLY AND WAKE UP AT THE SAME TIME
I really need to start taking better care of my body and this starts with sleep. I’m going to start going to bed early and waking up at the same time everyday. I’m constantly exhausted and think if I sort out my body clock, this will have a massive impact on my life.
LEARN TO SAY NO
This year I’m making it my number one priority to be more selfish. I need to learn to stop being a people pleaser and start saying no when I’m not willing to do something.
TAKE BETTER CARE OF MY BODY
The gym. Oh that dreaded word. I’ve always been in a position where I haven’t felt comfortable about my weight, and this year I’m making it my ultimate resolution to take control. When I do attend the gym, I absolutely love it. I love feeling accomplished and I love the rush of endorphins – it just makes me feel so positive.
What are your resolutions for this year and how are you planning to stick to them?
